How Iâm Building a Fully Autonomous Newsletter to Capture Daily Attention.
Jul 30, 2025
I’m building a second newsletter!
Yep you read right!…
…And my goal is to spend almost zero time creating it.
That might sound strange, especially when most businesses struggle to keep just one newsletter consistent. But hear me out.
We are fighting the same battle every single day: the war for attention. In today’s economy, visibility is currency. The problem is, launching a new marketing channel feels like a monumental task.
Tell me if this sounds familiar. You have a great idea for a new content stream — maybe a daily AI news roundup or a weekly market intelligence brief. But then the reality hits. You’d need to hire a writer, maybe an editor, and dedicate significant time and budget to manage the whole process.
The project gets shelved, and a potential competitive advantage disappears before it even starts.
I used to believe that was the only way. I saw other successful newsletters like Superpower Daily, Alpha Signal and The Rundown and thought about the teams required to produce that daily content.
Then I had a shift in perspective.
I remembered the quote: 1³â¶â” is 1. But 1.01³â¶â” is over 37. It’s about the power of small, compounded gains.
What if you could build a system that is the marketing channel? A system that captures that 1% of audience attention every single day, on autopilot.
That’s exactly what I’m building. And today, I’m going to show you the simple, Level 1 automation that makes it possible.
The Autonomous Newsletter Engine: Level 1
My philosophy with AI is that it can get you 80–90% of the way there. The last 10–20% is where human oversight provides the final polish and strategic direction. This system is designed around that principle, turning a 10-hour-a-week job into a 10-minute review.
Here’s how the basic architecture works.
Step 1: The Trigger (The Schedule)
Everything starts with a simple scheduler. Every morning at 7:00 AM, the system automatically kicks off. No need for me to remember anything. This is the heartbeat of the operation.
Step 2: The Search (The Intelligence Gatherer)
The system then sends a prompt to an AI-powered search tool. My current choice is Perplexity AI.
Step 3: The Summary (The Distillation Chain)
Once the news articles are identified, they are fed into a separate summarization chain. I’ve set this up to use OpenAI’s GPT-4.1 Mini for its speed and accuracy.
Step 4: The Review (The Human-in-the-Loop) — [Coming up in my article tomorrow]
The final, summarized content is then sent for my approval. This is the 10% human touch. I can quickly scan the summaries, ensure they align with my brand’s voice, and give the final go-ahead for publishing.
This entire process allows me to create a high-value asset that would traditionally cost thousands of dollars and a dedicated team member, almost entirely on autopilot.
